Johnny Hallyday was a French rock and roll singer often dubbed the French Elvis, credited with introducing rock ’n’ roll to France. He released more than 1,000 songs, became one of Europe’s best-selling rock artists, and also acted in films, winning the Prix Jean Gabin for Best Actor.
