Luiz Melodia

Luiz Melodia was a Brazilian composer and interpreter associated with MPB, known for songs that bridge traditional samba from Estácio with pop and for his tracks that were recorded by major singers including Gal Costa and Maria Bethânia. He also became a notable stage-name figure after early work in the 1970s and achieved wider recognition through hits such as “Pérola Negra” and “Maravilhas Contemporâneas,” which reached mass media via a television theme.
