Tito Puente
Tito Puente was an American Puerto Rican–born percussionist and bandleader associated with Latin jazz, mambo, cha-cha, and salsa. He helped popularize Afro-Cuban rhythms in mainstream jazz in the 1950s, and is especially associated with timbales and milestone tracks such as “Oye Como Va.”
