The Blackbyrds

The Blackbyrds were an American jazz-funk group, known for synthesizer-led dance grooves, ballads, and group vocals developed around the music of Donald Byrd’s Howard University students. They debuted in 1974 and achieved crossover success with the 1975 hit Walking in Rhythm, along with gold albums such as City Life and Unfinished Business.
