A scream is choking tight in the throat like a lump
But the time has come, and here, whether you cry or not
Only later will someone long remember
How the fighters, swaying, wiped their swords on the grass
And how the black tribe of crows flapped their wings
How the sky laughed, then suddenly bit its tongue
And the hand of the one who survived shook
And suddenly, in an instant, eternity came to be
And the sunset burned like a funeral pyre
And the stars watched as wolves from the clouds
How, spreading their arms, lay those who departed into the night
And how the living slept in heaps, seeing no dreams
But life is just a word. There's only love, and there is death
Eh, but who will sing if everyone is asleep?
Death is worth living for
And love is worth waiting for...
